The Human Mind by Peter Cherches

Why is it easy as pie to pile up vivid memories of people with whom we form a relationship? But when the relationship is over, why it is so difficult for those vivid memories to take a hike, scram, vamoose or otherwise make a hasty exit?

One could write an entire textbook addressing this topic, the area of psychology known as memory and cognition. Or, then again, one could accomplish much the same result by writing a penetrating micro in a couple of quick strokes - if your name is Peter Cherches, that is. As per this Peter popper:

THE HUMAN MIND
"The human mind is like an attic," he told her.
"Yes, I know," she replied. "And I wish you'd get your junk out of mine."

The Human Mind is included in Peter's recently published Whistler's Mother's Son and Other Curiosities
