Jerry Cornelius and the Multiverse by Michael Moorcock

Really, Louise?

Sounds like Louise never had the experience of those powerful, mind-altering drugs imbibed by the likes of Jerry Cornelius. Recall Jerry remarking, "Childhood is always the happiest time of life except when you're a child."

And on The Final Programme's final page, JC observes, "A tasty world," it reflected cheerfully. "A very taste world."

And, yet again, in A Cure for Cancer, when someone asks Jerry which life he likes, Jerry replies, "Oh, all of them really."

Personal reflection: Given a choice between 1) looking at the world, or 2) feeling intense bliss, feeling any notions of solid identity dissolve and expand out into a fluid identity in the multiverse, I'll take number 2 and join Jerry.
