EXILE IN MY OWN COUNTRY

I don’t watch television
I don’t own a car
I don’t go to the movies
I don’t listen to pop music
I don’t follow a sports team
I don’t eat crap food

I don't guzzle pop soda
I don’t belong to a community group

I don't read the newspaper
I don’t drink or smoke or do drugs

I don't engage in idle chatter

 

In many ways, having lived in the US all my life,
I’m an exile in my own country.
