I
had an opportunity to see a new (for me) René Magritte painting at the
recently refurbished Bruce Museum in Greenwich, Connecticut. Here it is,
Les Tambours de la Mort (The Drums of Death) c. 1965 prior to this outstanding work of gouache on paper being framed professionally at the Bruce.
Such
a great experience, enhanced by two kind gentlemen at the Bruce Museum,
Garth and Felipe, who helped me take some photos and shared in my
excitement with this Magritte.
If anyone ever has a
chance to visit the Bruce Museum, please do so - so much on display
both in the worlds of art and science - and the museum's new design (as
per below) is fabulous.
